Different Types of Shower Heads
One thing that every homeowner learns when they want to renovate a kitchen or bath is that there are options for just about everything. If you’re considering giving your Colorado bathroom and update, you may want to consider giving your shower a bit of a facelift as well. Depending on how far you want to take your remodel, you could make some dramatic changes to your shower head.
Wall-Mounted Shower Head
Changing out a standard wall-mount shower head is an easy way to update your bathroom without breaking the budget. Some wall-mount shower heads have adjustable nozzles for a refreshing experience. If you already have a wall-mount shower head, you can simply install a new one by unscrewing the old head and screwing in the new one.
If the old shower head feels stuck, don’t force it. Spray some WD-40 and use pliers to gently loosen. If you’re still having trouble, call a technician to do it for you. You don’t want to risk breaking the shower arm or causing a leak.
Handheld Shower Head
The handheld shower head is versatile and can help you with a variety of tasks, in addition to making your shower experience feel more luxurious. This type of shower head can fit with standard settings but is attached to a hose that can extend the reach and spray of the shower head.
With a handheld shower head, you can easily get the kids washed, the dog hosed down, and the walls of the shower rinsed. Not to mention, many of these shower heads have adjustable settings that can provide extra relaxation, like massage jets and spray variations.
Top-Mounted Shower Head
This style of shower head is best suited for a total remodel, as you will likely need to make adjustments in plumbing. Unlike a wall-mounted shower head, this is mounted from the ceiling. You may sometimes hear these referred to as rain showers. It’s a luxurious upgrade, but again, can be out of budget if you don’t plan on plumbing changes.
